@imalts2015 Obviously I’m really happy about the casting. I have full confidence in Sun Li’s ability to play the leading role. As for whether this drama will live up to Legend of Zhen Huan standards…I doubt it. I’ve given up on expecting another c-drama that will fill the void that Legend of Zhen Huan left behind. Yes, Legend of Mi Yue has a great cast, but sometimes even a great cast can’t save a drama if the script isn’t good. So In my opinion, it all depends on whether the story itself is interesting enough. One obvious disparity between the two dramas so far is that the costumes in Legend of Mi Yue don’t hold a candle to the ones in LZH!
我非常满意演员阵容，我完全相信孙俪有能力驾驭好这个角色。至于芈月传是否能达到甄嬛传的高度，我表示怀疑，我认为已经没有剧集能超越甄嬛传了。没错，芈月传有个非常好的演员班底，但是很多时候有好的演员，但剧本不好也是不行的。所以，一切都取决于故事本身。到目前为止，一个明显的悬殊体现在服装上，芈月传的服装比甄嬛传差多了。
@smartboss Of course, comparisons between LZH and Legend of Mi Yue will be made. After all, both dramas are about a woman who becomes empress/empress dowager. According to Sun Li though, Zhen Huan and Mi Yue are two very different characters. She’s taking care to differentiate between the two in her performance and in the script.

@0kuo0  The plot does seem very similar to Zhen Huan Zhuan so I think comparisons are unavoidable at this point.

@Sartorial Fiction Society Yay, I can’t wait to watch this! Somehow I think the plot would not be too similar to ZZH, due to the different political contexts. Since it was the Warring States period, I look forward to seeing more major, inter-state, Game of Thrones-style politics, rather than just the isolated harem politics which we have seen in ZZH.

@Wonderfulmomo The costumes, props and makeup of the Legend of MiYue was critized as flashy and gaudy by online historical buffs. Because 2300 years ago cloth dyeing techniques were very poor and impossible to have so many ranges of colors. The major colors used are pretty solumn and simple, namely red, black, white, gold. This perid there are over 80 famous historical figures that can be woven into the story . But if they don’t have a strong storyline, I believe it will be a disaster.
    剧中服装、妆容等因为过于华丽而被网上的历史爱好者所诟病，因为2300年前，衣服的织染技术还不发达，不可能有如此丰富的色彩。该时期的80多个历史人物被编进故事里，但如果没有强大的故事情节，我相信这将是硬伤。
@pallie yay, another period drama! Hopefully the plotline is as good as LZH, been waiting awhile for a good period drama to finally come out. love the casting with sun li and jiang xin, they were wonderful in LZH so i’m looking forward to this drama. i don’t really like some of the costumes and hairstyles where it makes the characters look a bit gaudy。
   wow，有一部历史剧。希望故事情节和甄嬛传一样棒。实在等了太久了啦。我超级爱孙俪、蒋欣，他们在甄嬛传中表演的非常棒，非常期待在芈月中再次看到他们的表演。我不是太喜欢其中一些服装和发型，因为看上去有点华而不实。
